Presenting
Problem Analysis: You will learn how to teach
your clients to create a list of their presenting problems, identifies the
relationship of each of those problems to their pattern of chronic relapse,
projects logical consequences into the future if nothing changes and makes a
commitment to change the core personality and lifestyle problems that cause
relapse 2.
Life
and Addiction History:
You will learn how to teach
your clients to identify lifestyle
problems that increase the risk of relapse by completing a detailed life and
addiction history that includes childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. 3.
Recovery
and Relapse History:
You will learn how to teach
your clients to identify factors leading to
past relapses by completing a relapse calendar and a detailed analysis of
relapse episodes. 4.
Warning Sign Review:
You will learn how to teach
your clients to identify
the warning signs that lead from stable recovery to relapse by reviewing a list
of common warning signs and identifying three personal warning signs. 5.
Warning
Sign Analysis:
You will learn how to teach
your clients to identify the hidden warning
signs that have led to past relapses by describing past experiences with his or
her personal warning signs and identifying the thoughts, feelings, urges, and
actions that comprise his or her self-defeating responses to those warning
signs. 6.
Final
Warning Sign List:
You will learn how to teach
your clients to develop a final list of
personal warning signs that lead from stable recovery to relapse;
identify the related irrational thoughts, unmanageable feelings,
self-destructive urges, and self-defeating behaviors that drive those warning
signs; and identify three critical warning signs. 7.
Warning Sign Management: You will learn how to teach
your clients to identify
and change the thoughts, feelings, urges, actions, and reactions that prevent
effective management of the critical warning signs. 8.
Recovery
Planning: You will learn how to teach
your clients to develop a schedule of recovery activities that
support the ongoing identification and management of core personality and
lifestyle problems, test this schedule by identifying how each activity can be
adapted to help him or her identify and manage those personality and lifestyle
problems, and develop a final recovery plan that addresses all critical warning
signs. A 45 - 90 Minute presentation designed for large conference general session presentations. A 3-hour workshop designed for concurrent presentation at large conferences. A stand-alone conference to be presented by conference sponsors in their community or as an in-service training package. RPT - Five-day Advanced Clinical Skill Training Workshop A three-day advanced clinical skills training experience with an optional competency certification program. RPC - Optional Competency Certification An optional competency certification program in assessment and treatment planning is available for students who complete the 3-day Advanced Clinical Skills Training Workshop.
